Jennifer Krazit has been a professional editor and writer for more than 20 years.
Hi! I’m Jen. I am a writer, editor, and content operations expert who has worked in both digital and print media.
I cut my teeth working on the copy desk at CNET News.com, which was early to digital publishing and set the bar for what online news could be. Since then, I have overseen a copy desk, led social media strategy, created print magazine schedules from kickoff to delivery, and managed publishing workflow at a Fortune 500 tech company.
With this varied background, I’m deeply familiar with every stage of the editorial process, from content strategy to headline brainstorms, from writing to copy editing, and from content promotion to performance analysis.
In addition to journalism, I’ve worked in custom publishing and content marketing. Navigating these very different roles means always keeping the reader top of mind and being crystal clear about the purpose of the work.
My priority for Lichen Media is to do work that I love with people doing good, important, interesting things. I’m particularly keen to tell stories that touch on science, nature, and medicine; to work with artists, nonprofits, and journalism outlets; and to try new and different things.
Why Lichen?
Most people know lichen to be adaptable and capable of thriving in diverse environments around the globe. But what makes lichen so fascinating is what you don’t see. Despite its appearance, lichen isn’t just one thing. Scientists now know that lichen is a unique, mutualistic relationship between algae, fungus, and yeast—three distinct organisms that come together to make something new and different and beautiful. To me, this was the perfect metaphor for creative work.
When looking at a finished product, most people don’t see the unique talents and hard work that went into it behind the scenes. And yet this is where the magic of the creative process happens. The best work comes out of collaboration. Let’s build something new and different and beautiful together.
